ZG fender flares
I am looking to order some ZG fender flares from the website. Does anyone know which ones will have the best fitment? Are the Miata ones viable? Does anyone have experience using these?
Thanks in advanced. I am looking to 3M tape mount them, no fender cutting or riveting.

If you don't cut the fenders, you won't have room for the tires that would be the reason why you needed flares.
That is to say, the flares are to cover the tires after you cut the fenders for clearance.

Did you cut the original flare right before it gets close to the flat part of the body? I see you still have part of the flare (maybe 1/2" - 1") which means you didn't cut it completely off. Is this correct?
I ask because I'm installing a rear widebody kit and I need to cut the quarter as well but would like to cut it clean and not have a lot of body work to do after the cut. Yours looks like a nice clean cut!
Also, what type of screw are you using to hold the flares to the body? Looks interesting.

And I wont be cutting anything on my car. Fender will be rolled. I'm not going that wide haha. Wanted the fender flare look without all the commitment

The pic before the paintjob show you the welding. I also welded stainless steal bolts on the bodyshell and fitting the oldstyle original ZG flares with black pvc nuts protecting all again rust. Hope you understand my german english.

I was hoping for a no weld job after cutting the body flare but I guess I'm out of luck! Do you have a picture of how it looks just after you cut, prior to welding? Is it 2 panels that must be welded closed?

Sorry didn't find the picture yet. You will have to make to different cuts. The outside panel cut have to be about 10mm more and yery exactly so you can put the inner panel over them and welded both together.

spetz, if you do get those flares and attach them without bonding or riveting I'd love to see how it turns out! Please keep us posted! I've been thinking of getting something similar for my stock 83 GSL but I'm hesitant to cut or mess with the bodywork much and I'd love to know how viable it ends up being

I thought we talk about oldstyle ZG flares🤔.https://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/P...sic02c/50-1550 A lot of design copy all over the years. BTW It's your taste not mine. Good luck with that taped on in hot summer on highspeed use.
They make very very strong 3M branded double sided tape now, almost strong enough it will rip the paint off when removing.
After seeing what you have done though with yours, i am considering cutting the fender because it looks great!

You are aware of window visors correct on vehicle? They use strong 3M tape and have no issues on highway speeds, and I live in an area where we get 40 Celsius weather

Haha you guys are lucky to have that no limit speedway.
Here in Canada, 100km/h max, maybe 110km/h on certain highways. Too slow

That 's why the level to get some tuning parts streetlegal will be very high i think. The canadian will take it more easy😜
