These are very usable as far as the chrome is concerned.

I also agree that they are usable. I see no chrome flaking, only minor burnishing. I'd use them.

Chrome looks very good.

However to be sure you should check the FSM for the specs needed for a rebuild, especially for consistent housing width.

Also be sure you don't have any significant corrosion in the cooling passages that might compromise the o ring seals.

If they are good and your plan is to just use them temporarily until you can get a 13B you may want to consider selling them instead.

Good 12A rotor housings are very hard to find and can fetch a good price, probably enough to pay for your 13B.

Enough to pay for an entire 13b pp build? :O

il chec for corision when i get home, the whole motor looked pretty good except fot the rotors, they were pretty much completely covered in carbon all around. i thin the engine was drien soft its entire life.

No, not a rebuild, but maybe a good used 13B..

But they could be a nice down payment.

If in good shape, they would probably fetch around $300 each, maybe more if the market has completely dried up.

so... ive got some really bad news on these, i noticed when i took it apart that some moron mightve put stop leak in here at some point. (its coolant seals were bad when i took it apart) and i noticed that a coolant channel was gummed up along the length of the block. i didnt think anything oif it at the time untill i started to look closer. and look what i found! yay!

can this be repaired? sadly both housings are like this as well as one of the irons. im guessing and iron is a fairly "easy" fix with a little bit of welding and determined dremel work.

Those are gone. There could be the same type of damage inside that can't be seen or fixed.

Crap eh!

So nice condition housings, indicative of low mileage/sitting... and that gives some water jacket corrosion!

Not sure what is involved in aluminum weld repair of the housing. I know it is a common repair to weld then machine the groove on FC/FD irons (like Chips Motorsports does via CNC), but haven't seen it done on the FB side of things where the groove is in the housing, not the iron.

What do the irons look like? If they are deeply pitted I don't think you can save them, would need welding then surfacing and nitriding.

12A irons aren't that expensive. Probably cost more to fix then to buy.
