You sit here and judge people in the rx7 club about how they made post. What have you done to help the people here? You dont deserve to even be here. The only post you have made is how everyone else is stupid. you need to go back into the hole you crawled out of because your not helping anyone here.

Hey Billy,

The coils on that car were new in the last few months.I doubt you needed new coils.I think the wires, and plugs were all new as wel.I hope you are not killing that beautiful car.

To all that don't know this car he is speaking of is a really late production 85 SE in a color I have not seen much.Persimmon I think is the name of it.It is fully loaded, and I hope it is being treated well.My friend bought it a year or so ago,and he never should have bought it.I tried talking him out of it because it deserves a much better fate then what he has subjected it to.I am sad now that this car doesn't seem to be getting the love it so deserves.

This was fun while it lasted.....

To end it....

its either a fusible link, or the alternator itself went and kicked the bucket. If the system doesn't see the voltage from the alternator the dash lights light up ie either fusible link, or alternator.

Is the belt still on? I had one pop wrap around the crank and kill the engine at about 1500 rpm (it also wiped out my omp hose's in the process) and until I replaced the belt the lights remained on (of course) simple answer is check the alt for belt, then fusible link (set multi meter to impedance look for 0 ohms or maybe .3~.4 ohms max then check alt for voltage

And guys seriously you are starting to act like the 2nd gen and 3rd gen crowd.

Not often I back up some one with a post like this.....But he's right you are all ready to bash, and not help I thinks you all need to get laid.

chris, i forgot to mention, yeah it was strange a current was going from the key to coil but then no current to the engine for the spark ( i found that out with a test light)... so i replaced the leading coil...the distributer cap insides were broken so i replaced that then the rotor was beat so i got that...then i just did a unflooding procedure because it was had been sitting for 4 days and once i got it fired up a ton of smoke came out as expected and things were fine till that possible fuse or alternator issue...i'm not sweating it though,i know i can get it runnig again. when i bought the car it had a bit of an idle problem but i fixed that the second day it was under my care, the problem was simple really the idle wire was way loose i just tighten that and it was all go, the idle was a little high at the start almost 2k but once it warmed up it sat at 1k and stays there at ever stop ( i know it should be at 850 but it's fine). i cleaned the throttle plates they were pretty clean from the start...near shinny so that wasn't the problem at all.

Is your battery loose? Is there a burn mark on the underside of the hood? What idle wire? That is probably the throttle cable, so if you used that to adjust the idle then you might want to study up on carb adjustments before you continue. There is a nice section on this located in the faq. I know that if you are posting well written threads clearly stating a technical question, then you are being well cared for here. I personally try to answer each thread that I am able to contribute something to, and Trochoid is always around too. Plus with all of the others that are here on a daily basis, there is no way that a good question can go unanswered for long. So don't try to pull this kind of crap, it makes you look bad...

i have posted a couple of questions like the brake light won't turn off, gas gauge not reading, and i gave symtoms of a broken distributor cap, coil, and rotor, but no one could give me any information about anything...to me rx7club is just a place to go to find parts not tech help...and if i haven't made it obvious already....my rex never went through any explosion...what's the deal man, that was upsetting to see all those replies for something that stupid.
no what you dont understand is that this is the 1st gen TECH section, not the ******* lounge. you want to post a silly story?fine, take it to the lounge asshat. stupid **** like this in the tech sections is why alot ppl dont bother trying to offer real technical help.

i mean seriously i get sick and ******* tired of seeing the same bullshit questions asked and silly nonsense like this posted every damn week.

Kentetsu,

His car is an SE so there is no carb, and I am not sure what wire he is talking about either. The car is very nice, but does need some work to make it perfect.

With the content/jive/rap/bs in his post, I'm not suprised his car was vandalized. Trying to live the wanna be life does have it's consequences. If he was the real thing, he wouldn't be posting here whining and suck it up instead. The cptpain virus must be going around, or bringing them out of the woodwork, the little termites.
Man thats just what i was thinking now everybody has FB stories.must be a FB plague going around i hope i dont catch it & come here posting some sob stories lol. Man i was driving and a divider that got hit by lightining flew up but i dodged it but then the "whopper" the sleet the size of basketballs hit my windshield knocking me uncontious then a bolt of lightening hit my system and blew the car up. So send me some money PayPAl so i can fix my car & get a new sound system write more Sci-Fi novels lol

Lets put an end to this BS There was a silly group on the MySpace RX7club too that got out of control. We are really into rotaries then we should move on from this one i know i got into it. We have one thing in common and one goal speed and to whip Piston ***. so Rotorheads lets just drop this subject we are starting to sound like a bunch of backstabbing Honda ricers who steal from each other . To clear up this lack of technical help myth. It's all here. Everything has been covered in the past except for rare freak occassions. You'll get flamed and comments for asking a simple question unclearly when you can search and find fifteen different answers.

You want technical help? There are probably ten 7 owners within an hour or two of you who are willing to drive to you or you to them and give you parts and help you work. At least that's how Ohio 7 owners seem to be.

It's here, you just have to know where to look and how to ask.

This is the most helpful and inclusive place I've ever been for any type of car tuning and restoration. Don't tear this place down. It's a very strong group and it's a nationally known and respected group at the same time. We need more physical representation nationally like a national meet but at the same time there are small cells of RX7club guys who will do anything for another 7 owner... that is of course if you are just as willing to return the favor.
