X-MAS Gift

My son's x-mas gift is appx 90% done. He is out of town; I hope to finish it this week. Its a big *** 13-B streetport built by SIDEPEX in Temple City, CA. 3-window bearing, modified e-shaft, pinned rotors, GSL-SE block converted to a 4port etc etc. I thought about keeping it for myself but I decided to do a streeported TII block with blow-thru instead. Here's a few pics of his car. Carb? dont know yet, I have too many options.

Nice job!

Its cheaper to built him a motor than to buy a newer car and pay full coverage insurance. my son is only 14 and he will be getting his drivers permit next summer. He is already getting drivers training from me. Hopefully, by April, he will take drivers ed class and drivers formal training. This motor is exactly identical to my RX-3 but the "3" got the weight advantage over the FB.

The FB is in good shape except for a few minor dings and faded roof paint. if he wants a better paint job, he can start saving. He is good at that.

Wow, you must really trust your son. No son of mine would get a car with more than 4 cylinders or 40 horsepower.

yeah, trust is the keyword. Without it, he will not be open and will hide things from my wife and I. In addition, he has been exposed to the rotary scene since he was born. I brought him home from the hospital in a RX-4. . But just like everything else, there are rules that he would need to follow.

thanks for the offer but i just need to get new oil cooler lines from "the hoseman, radiator rod out and the old cooler dip in the solvent tank and clean. I will just use an old RR&R mikuni during the break-in period.

Really nice car, I just get to drive my dad's 7, but wish that I had a 13B, and a 7 of my own. Oh well, I love the 12A in my dad's '80!

THE BLUE BEAST IS FINALLY UP AND RUNNING.
First, I installed a 44 mikuni, I was not happy. Removed and replaced it with a RB Holley, it was OK but not aggressive. Junk the two carbs and installed the 48 IDA from the RX-3. MF, it was sweet,

Now, for the downside, I have to get another IDA manifold to get the RX-3 running. Well, I thought I should just share my experience.

Not too many people know about the rotary where I live. Nobody really hates it. All my friends at school think its the coolest thing. They are just amased by the rotary.
