if so what style of side pipes? two the whole way combine at header then exit? where to exist? or run to each side of the car? what size piping? and what would be the quietest free flowing muffler for this application?

only way you can really do it is header to muffler then pipes bent to exit directly under the rear of the door on passenger side. it is loud. my friend did it. theres no way you can keep it legal.

I suggest you read either the Mazdatrix or Racing Beat section on exhaust tuning, I have forgotten which one has it. The pipe length makes a difference on performance.

I have concidered doing something similiar, but only for track use at the strip. I want to line up in the left lane and see the look on the other guy's face face when I shoot 4' flames at him.
