Question wosh wosh wosh.... shhhhhhhh

ok so im kinda confused cause A. i drove my fb (possibly running on one rotor) 20miles after buying it to my buddys house to check her out.. then about 15 more miles to my house.. i start it everyday to hang out in her till she getsher new motor.(this weekend!!!!!!). and she starts really easy!... actually better then any of my other fb's.... but we did the wosh test... and the leading rotor went wosh wosh wosh .. standing proud! but the trailing did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.... so why is it that i can still drive her and start her? i mean driving isnt the best... at about 3k all power is lost and she just back fires, but we were going about 60mph on the highway... hills were abit of an issue no power to get up them... my buddy that was following me said "it was like a little rotary campfire!" coming from my exh. whats up with that? not the fire but the motor...

If the car was sitting for a while, you can have some stuck apex seals. I have had something like that happen with one of my motors. Pull off the exhaust manifold and look into the block and slowly spin the motor over by hand. If you have a pencil or something push against an apex seal and see if it moves. That is, if you still have them in the rotor

Other than that, could be a couple stuck corner seals as well.

I friend of mine had a problem with stuck apex seals in the streetport 4 port 13b in his fb. Him and his dad fixed it with MMO(marvel mystery oil) Pull the leading plugs, squirt an ounce or so in each, turn the motor about a third of a turn with a wrench and repeat. Do this about six times to be good and sure you coat the chambers. spin the motor over by hand several times and let it sit overnight. You could try and start it the next day or just turn the motor over a few more times and let it sit some more. Once you get around to it, toss the plugs back in and fire it up. It will smoke like a banshee for several minutes, if stuck seals are a problem, that would fix it. Good luck!

What are you going to do with the bad motor? I wouldn't mind taking it off your hands

yeah no joke about the MMO it works. i had to do this exact procedure to get the motor (used, out of an '83) i put in my SA going. gave her a good dose of MMO and let soak for a good 24 and then went to crank it and she fired right up.

well hears the thing... this motor hadnt been sitting it was this guys DD...and it just went out one day i guess.. thats what he told me... so in hope that the mmo would work, deep inside i knew it wouldnt... as for the other motor my buddy zac and i are going to be porting it, and getting it ready for boost ... im hoping to have that motor completed in about 3-5 months, depending on how much hp and money i want to have/spend... zac wants nothing less then 500hp.. but i think an fb with like 250hp will be plenty for me! maybe when i do that you can have this motor that is actually running!

250whp will be easy... my 500+ will be an interesting route with the 12a... i could have that -RE doing 500 eaaaasy

Atleast you will be running and can come out to the next RX7 meet wooot!
