Is this worth it?

I'm not sure if this is the right section, mods can close if need me.

I am looking at picking up this fb, well I guess it would be a SA. It's a 79 with carb issues. I called the guy, he said if I come pick it up for more than the junk man who will come in two days then it's mine. At the moment it doesn't run as the guy couldn't get the carbs working (supposedly). I hope the engine is still running as this will be an autox car if I can get it running or I will just sell it for what I got it for to an rx7 member so they can have the 12a or shell. I wanted to see if this car is worth this price not running?

On a side note, will this 79 distributer fit a 13b?

even if it is a rust bucket $550 isnt bad. i would consider the motor forfit until you get it looked at profesionally. I picked up my mint SA for $3500 then parted it out to make room for a full overhaul, I dumped about $20k into it since and if it is destroyed in an accident the insurance will pay me $25k. just a thought.

His "New carb is about $150" is missing a zero (actual NEW carbs are $$$), but this could be a decent project car. You could probably recoup your $550 off it in parts over time, too, if it goes that way.

For that price, jump on it. You can recoup selling parts if you have to and then selling the shell to
the junkyard.
