Talking WooT! Some help please?

Hey,

I have a '83 RX-7 GSL, pretty much stock everything *thinks* (Hell, it is stock everything.) I have a few ideas on what I want done, but I thought I would ask you guys, if you had any suggestions for it?

Also, I wanted to redo the extieror(some rust damage, scratches, etc...), possible body kit. Ayn idea on where to get a good body kit? I've looked around and not coming up with many leads.

Any case, I'm open to suggestions. =)

mariahmotorsports have the best ones I've seen.

Also:
Mazdatrix
Wings West

There are others, but these are the ones that I frequent.

I'm with jimmyv13. I'm spending my money on performance upgrades now, and getting the cosmetics done next year.

sounds good.

i think the first thing i'll do it a get a straight pipe for my exhaust.
isn't like 5 extra hp or something like that. can't remember to be sure. it's a start. lol

If you don't emissions laws in your area, then go with the RB full racing exhaust. BIG improvement over stock.

K&N air filter
some type of CAI
ATF treatment
NGK plugs

jimmyv13 is right on. One thing he forgot:
DLIDFIS.

That's Dual Leading Ignitor Direct Fire Ignition System.

Read up on it here.

Don't forget some good wires to go with the new NGK plugs.

Also, junk the rats nest of the emissions control system (if you don't have emisiions testing in your area.

If you do have emissions testing, then you'll have to keep the rats nest, so upgrade your vacuum hose with HoseTechniques.
Of course you won't be able to use a straight pipe if you have to pass emissions.

Lucky bastard. We have fairly strict emissions around here.

Nicest thing about the mods we mentioned is that the only one that really costs much is the RB exhaust setup.

Have fun!

Stupid Skeleton!

yes, of course.. the age old debate of form before function.

IMHO, do what pleases YOU.
i go all out of my way to make my car look and sound rediculous. nobody gets it but the reason i do this isn't to impress anyone else. i like the way my car looks and sounds to me, and that is the whole damn point.

now about the exhaust....

sure racing beat and all them sell nice exhaust, but why not save $400 and get a custom jobby from the local welding shop? and anyway, last i checked ditching the cats was more than 5 hp.

whoever posted about the emissions under the hood, can you please be more specific? i would definately be interested in that. im planning on ditching the emissions on my 88 tII, and i know how it all goes on that car, but Error402 has a carb'ed 12a engine. i dont know a damned thing about carburetors to start with, and i'd sure as hell like to. anything anyone can input on carb tuning or performance mods please contribute.

AJC13B, thanks for the link i'll check it out. I have a question.. would you recommend trying to put a 13b engine in or moding the 12a to turbo? or am i just stupid enough to ask a silly question like that? Also where did you get your turbo for you 7?

and for VashtheStampede
"1..2...1...2...1..2...3 Fight!!! Yo, I've been hearing a bunch of punk b*tches out there are claiming that they got the skills to go toe to toe with the Hawk man in the quake arena. Ha Ha Ha... Mechanical Secondaries seems to be a popular place to start.

People get into re-jetting and things like that.

Replacing the Stock Nikki carb with a Webber, Delorto (SP), Holley seem to be the peopular as well.

Woah dude, this is some serious grave digging... Check the dates man! The last entry was October 5th, 2001!! I knew this was old as soon as I read the first post and Error was saying his car was stock. I sold him a RB Holley carb, RB intake manifold, and a RB exhaust manifold for that car a long time ago, lol

It's for size comparison. Everyone knows how big a tennis ball is, and roughly how it would fit in your hand. So you can picture how big the turbo is.
