woohoo 5psi

well i was testing my 7 today and i started to give her some boost and with stock gslse fuel set up, ecu and turbo II regulator i got her up to 5 psi without leaning and knocking. this is my first time that i drove a 1st g turbo and it feels more powerfull and faster rev that a turbo II i drove. i like the kick when the turbo kick in. i start getting boost betwen 2400 to 2600 RPM but i didnt dare to pass over 5k RPM but i had a friend with me looking at the A/F meter and didnt lean at all. it sure that my car fell way different that before. im later in the summer im gonna change the fuel and ecu to run more boost and rev higher that 5k. well what you guys think about it? i like it my car alot now. if you want to know about my setup is in my sig

I have a GSL-SE that I am making a turbo kit for right now using an IHI RHC-7 turbo. Just out of curiosity how are you running 4 injectors off of the stock computer? I love the "Lowes Motor Racing" intercooler piping!!!

Be careful man! A/F monitoring w/o a wideband is just a guessing game. I would, at the least be running a bigger fuel pump. The big IC is helping though. Innovative piping if I do say so.

You're pushing 5 psi on 9.4:1 rotors which in my rough calcs would be like running 10.88 psi on an S5 TII (granted you're running an S4 turbo, but have a much better IC). And.....you've still only got fuel for a stock GSL-SE. Another factor on your side would be that I've heard those 680s are actually more like 720s.

Anyway, just a couple of thoughts on the matter. I'm sure you've done plenty of your own thinking on all of this. I just worry about people relying on a regular o2 sensor-based a/f gauge.

Cheers

P.S. - Kudos for getting it done. It must be a blast in such a light chassis.

I'm going to run somewhere between 10-12 psi on 9.4:1 rotors. So what? If you can tune it then there really isn't an issue there. I'm not trying to get 600 hp or anything.

So what? So you need to be thinking about getting it enough fuel, that's what. And that'd be about the limit on pump gas w/o h2o inj..

yeah thanks, im not realying about my regular o2 sensor, plus i just did it as a test im not doing this every time. i hit 5 psi just ones. and i didnt pass 5k. i know and i dont recomend do this with stock gslse ecu and fuel sistem because is only can run the two 680cc injectors that comes with the car and the ecu is not made for turbo. im gonna get all the goodys later because im a little short of money but im gonna run a 2 extra injectors, aftermarket ecu and a bigger fuel pump and regulator. if you gonna do any kind of turbo or supercharging on a n/a engine, get a carb, turbo II fuel sistem and ecu or a save your money and get a better aftermarket ecu and better fuel sistem. thanks
