won't start back up.
Ok guys I've tried a bunch this weekend and no luck.
First on Friday I was coming home from work and the car started to smoke and it cut itself off. I opened the hood and smoke was coming from around the oil dipstick area. Apparently I ran out of oil, which is when I found out my oil light apparently doesnt work. So I went to the store and got some oil and filled it up and after a few tries it cranked up. It when through the entire warm up until the choke popped back in adn then it died when it went down to normal idle. So then the car never would start back up and it seemed like it just wasnt getting enough spark to just quite turn over. So I replaced all the spark plugs which needed to be done and then I realized the battery was dead. I put it on the charger for a bit and it never recharged. I went to autozone and got a new battery tonight and all the lights lit up like it was fully charged. As soon as I turned the key to start it up, it sparked close to the area the battery is in and now its acting like its dead.
Does anyone have any idea wtf is going on?

Ground cable is for the negative side right? I'll check again but I'm pretty sure thats how I have it. If the other battery was dead and I tried to start it cause I didnt know it was dead would that cause the same thing? Then possibly it would just happen again with the new battery?

Trying to start with a dead battery won't cause any damage, it just won't accomplish anything. Reversed battery connections can have nasty consequences, though.
Running out of oil on a rotary is very, very bad news. These cars need oil not just for lube, but a sizeable amount of the cooling load is handled by the oil, including everything on the rotors.
Hopefully, your no-idle, no-start problem is not being caused by loss of compression due to overheating the seals & springs.

ok i have some more info to work with now. I took out the fusible links and put new ones. Its not those that are sparking because it happened again. Its sparking at the terminals and yes i have the cables connected correctly. now i am trying to figure out the best way to determine if its the cables or if the engine is just seized. i wouldnt be surprised if its the cables cause they do look like ***.
