NC Woe is me - OMP troubles

So....
I replaced my OMP a month or so ago and discovered that I then had an oil leak coming from the lower OMP nipple (is that the right term? Seems like a Beavis and Butt-Head moment). Anyway, I got a small wire spring clamp and proceeded to replace the original spring clamp, as I figured that was what was causing my leak. Turns out the nipple came out of the OMP. So, now what? If I just try to squeeze it back in, I assume it will be loose and come out again? How do I fix that?

Take it off, clean thoroughly, jam that Baby in there with loctite. Replace.

I would use black RTV due to its oil resistant properties. Just dont let it plug the hole. Only put a thin film around it where it mates then try to gently tap it in with a hammer. I said gently!

For best results spray the OMP hole (where the barb came out of) and the barb with brake parts cleaner or at least a strong de-greaser like Simple Green and give it ample time to dry (or use a hair dryer). Give the RTV overnight to dry as well before you run the car.

The RTV is better? Is this something I can find at a parts store or what? Will it take the heat? I'd assume it's pretty hot by the OMP....
thanks again!

Its rated at 500 degrees and is oil resistant. If the surfaces are properly cleaned and given over night to dry it will bond nicely. It is commonly used on oil pans. I use it on all gasket surfaces as added protection. You only need a thin film.

Hard to see in the pic. Looks like u might be able to cut a bit of the bottom and tap it in with a hammer so the thicker top makes a seal. I would use a ring of lock tight with the rtv.

I highly recommmend Honda high temp rtv. It is by far the best product on th market. I use it on all my threaded fuel fittings and never had a problem. This stuff is strong and sets quickly.

Thanks! Just placed the order. Hopefully, this will be here in time for me to re-re-install the OMP and pass inspection....

Should be able to buy honda bond or Yamabond over the counter at any motorcycle shop. Auto stores carry permatex. Permatex has the same stuff in thier package, they advertise it as a motorcycle engine rtv.

Try the Honda bond HT. it's high temp sets faster and is very adhesive. I use it on all my NPT threads. It is a much better product.
