I had the same problem. I solved it with a half of a little dab of super glue, enough that'll break off when you need, but hold

Don't need the wipers if you wax the windshield and go as fast as Stu.

It has a similar effect to Rain-X, in that water "beads" off the windshield as you drive. Some people seem to do fine with it (and rarely use their wipers since the water's continually running off), but it's not something to depend upon.

I don't remember having issues with the pin when swapping wipers, but what you might consider is if the blade (rubber part) itself is the same size, sometimes you can take it off the new one and just swap it to the old wiper frame.

Good luck!

Most replacement wiper blades now days are universal, meaning they come with all the needed connectors so they can be mounted on any vehicle. If your's doesn't, make a trip to the recycler for that pin. Fwiw, wipers are a safety item and one should never be cheap with those.

If you wax it (i use a liquid wax, easier to get off) and get ALL the wax residue off it will preform like rain-x. The only time I ever use my wipers now is when I am at a light. Other than that, you can see the water starting to run off at around 35-40mph.

I just installed some Bosch wipers, and they did not come with the pins. However, I was able to remove the pins from the old wipers and insert them into the new wipers. Installation took about 10 seconds per side.

Oh, and Rain X is great stuff!

Bosch Evolution. Seem to be just as good as the Icons (which will not fit) but at half the price.

I just installed new Trico neoform teflon blades , and did the same thing. Just removed the pin from the old blades and used it for installing the new blades. Both of mine were 17".
