winshield wipers

how do the windshield wiper arms come off
mine are all rusted and i want to paint them black, but there doesnt seem to be a screw or anything
any ideas?

Juat pull off the black cap at the base of the arm.
There is a nut under there you can take off.

as well i might as well ask, what about the trim around the windshield, mines all scratches and stuff.. how would i go about repainting that. or taking it off to do so.

But yeah, I'm trying to find the connecting points for the clips holding on the rain gutters myself...

why so carefully?
do the clips tend to break or soemthing
and if so can you buy more?
as well i want to paint the trim around the window
can that be done as well

yea, don't do it without the special tool, all the clips will break (ask me how i know)

An automotive paint store may have one of those windshield trim removal tools, they look like a little flat piece of metal with a sort of hook on the end. You really need to use one to get the trim off without destroying the clips, which are a pain to replace. Also, the caps over the wiper mounting nuts are hinged and swing up and out of the way. -WG
