Windshield wipers won’t stop

My windshield wipers goes all the time when I have the fuse plugged in. This only happens when the car is running or in the on position. Has anyone else had this issue? If so, what was the issue and what did you do to resolve the issue?

Check under the drain cowel right inbetween the hood and the window of whatever , mine do this whenever i wash the car and get lots of water in there since the plastic connection is dry rotted .it stops as soon as the part is dry , maybe yours is dry rotted to the point its shorting.

I agree that you should pull the cowl and check the connector. Its possible that its become brittle and crumbled and the pins are just laying in there touching one another. This is the first step I would take.

Are you referring to the connection for the wiper motor? I replaced the motor 1yr ago but I’m going to check it to make sure the connection is good. Could it be the relay?

I check my connection under the cowl and the connection is good. There’s no wires touching. My wipers will still wipe all the time if the fuse is in. What will my next step be? My combination switch for the wipers and turn signal is new also. Could the relay for the wipers be bad? If so, where is it located?

Did you visualy inspect the connection under the cowel or physicaly inspect it ? That connection is exposed to the elements so it wouldn't be a bad idea to spray some electronic wire cleaner. Dirt , grime will cause the electricity to arc. As noted before , my car does what your car does whenever it gets wet . Your next step is to check the relay under the dash , it looks like a Ink cartridge for a printer . I recomend you FIRST try pushing the conection in . If that solves it , don't touch it . If not wiggle the connection gently with the fuse still in , if that works , then consider cleaning the conection . If none of that works then disconect it and clean both conections and repeat step 1-2 . I say this because these parts may be brittle and if your relay still works I don't want you to break it . When my blinkers gave out I fkxed it by just wiggling the connection and it has worked since . Now if nothing works you can try buying a new one if you can find one . There looks to be a FB one on ebay right now . No idea if it is compatable.

I actually installed a new connector for the windshield wiper motor. I will double check the wires. Going to take a look at the relay and connection today. Thanks a lot for the picture!

Try unplugging the wiper motor and measure the voltage on the plug side.
