Windshield Trim Installation

Does anyone know the proper way to install the windshield trim that sits on the base of the windshield (the long curvy piece on the picture below)
I don't see any visible clips and I am not sure if it's supposed to connect to the side trim somehow.

there are little pegs on the body, and little clips sit on those, and then the molding clips into the clips.

are you sure there are supposed to be pegs on the body near the base of the windshield? I've never seen them.

Something doesn't look right in your picture, that doesn't look like the windshield trim...

Like he said, there are pegs on the body at the bottom and top of the windshield that plastic clips (easy to find from a bunch of places, blackdragonauto.com being one of them) go onto, then the metal trim snaps onto those clips

alright so I have a bit of an issue, I don't see the pegs at the base (bottom) of the windshield for the long single piece, where do they exactly go in, and how do they go...
if all else fails I am planning to somehow glue it on, with a possible aid of a few screws.

has the windshield been replaced? the factory bead of sealant is neat, and it should have a square edge. the little pegs are on the body, on the side closer to the front of the car.

if yours has had a window, the pegs are probably buried in silicon

My window was replaced so it must be under the silicone gunk (or broken off, from what I read these are fragile little things.)

I actually was wondering where they might be placed since I got the set of pegs from BD for $17 and they seem to be just drillable inwards.

either way it seems like I'm going to have to glue the windshield trim on, don't think it can be supported by these tiny pegs by itself

you're looking for little metal protrusions to put the plastic clips on

What you have in your photo is a set of used SA body side moldings…

That's what I thought it was too, but it's been a while since I looked at SA side moldings lol.

Arcolithe - take a picture of the area around your windshield and we can point out what we're talking about. I don't have any pics off hand of mine with it's trim off...

The car has a lot of bondo work done to it from a previous owner, many I am removing and replacing with fiberglass.

image doesn't show properly.

gotta click on it I assume
I just realized. There's probably a way I can redo the whole bondo work with fiberglass (allowing me to drill through it more securely and easily.)
Does someone have a picture of how the clips are angled at?

something isn't right, the glass doesn't meet the body like yours does

Hard to say 100% from that pic, but it almost looks like someone tried to fill that whole gap in with bondo?? There should be a fairly large (3/8" or so) gap "beneath" the windshield. Is yours filled in like that on the top too?

no no no, the top trim and side trim is all on correctly.
I'm assuming there was just rust all around the base of the windshield so after he put the windshield in, he calked it thick with bondo.
Comes off very easily sadly... like applying thumb pressure easily (don't bondo kids~!)

it is also possible (likely?) that the glass is in the wrong place, it isn't supposed to be at the bottom, it is spaced up. there is a picture/specs in the FSM

Unfortunately someone messed up your windscreen install

You gotta find a new one and a specialist to reinstall with trim
