NB Windshield trim

I have always had slightly loose vertical trim on the outside of the car surrounding the windshield. I figured I would finally do something about it. I found some of the plastic clips underneath are missing and there is a silicone or another type of sealant in place holding the trim. I am going to order the clips through black dragon. Was there any sealant from factory? Were the factory clips all that was required to hold everything firmly in place?
Thanks

It's just clips, no goop.

Thanks a lot. I figured it was done after perhaps a windshield swap as it did not look right. Clips will be here soon... and things put on properly.
