Take your door panels off and clean and lube the rollers and rails. Clean with brake cleaner then lube with white lithium grease. Both come in aerosol cans.

Which tracks? The ones that go up into the frame, or the ones that the rollers ride in?

If the track seals ( or whatever they are called) are in good shape, check the following:

Roll the window up and check the metal channel that the gasket sets in to see if it is loose at the bottom of the seal track. There is a screw that holds the channel in place. If it is loose, the front of the window can bind on the way up. You have to pull the gasket out to get to the screw.

Check the top rear corner of the gasket, is it rounded and coming out of the track? If so gently pull the seal out and reset it.

If the gaskets are shot, I believe Victoria British sells replacements. Don't have my catalouge handy.

You can try adjusting the window regulator or the track as well, but be careful doing this as I've heard of people ending up with screwed up windows as a result.
(the regulator has a part that mounts with two or three bolts that can be loosened to adjust it; I don't remember about the track right off)

[hey everybody! just dropping by briefly... it's almost time for me to get into 7 season again :-D]

I had the same problem w/ my 81 GSL. It only jumped off every so often. I adjusted the rail every way possible numerous times & watched every inch down. Never figured it out. Got to where I could remove the door panel & replaceit in like 1 minute…

Just curious. Are you guys replacing the clear plastic with the "live rubber" adhesive every time you get into the inner door ? I'm **** and I do ( thicker plastic than stock ) and all I can add is that it stays like new when buttoned up correctly.
