Will GSL-SE Cat-Replac. Pipe Work on GSL?
I didn't really search much on this because I plan on trying to do this in about 45 minutes.....Will the cat-replacement pipe that came off my 85 GSL-SE work on my 85 GSL.......I just don't want to take everything off if others know it won't fit

Already checked, they have different part numbers, but I put it up next to exhaust and it looks the same.....so that why I am asking, I will probably try it anyway, but thanks for the tip.

The SE will have different part numbers because the SE pulls exhaust backpressure to drive the aux ports. Outside of that difference they may well be the same, but I'm not sure. As I'm looking for GSL-SE cars, I find a lot without emissions (which I have to pass). I'm curious to know if an S3 exhaust is the same between 12A and 13B, other than the port spacing and packpressure tube. You can usually find either a junk 12A car or a buddy to loan your his exhaust to pass just once (84s only have to pass one more time before they're exempt)

It seems to bolt up just fine....only question now is that the 12A cat-section has two tubes running to the motor, the large EGR tube and the a smaller tube, which I am not sure what it is?

Ahh, that's the anti-afterburn valve from the Nikki manifold. Basically, the air pump runs all the time, and when you drop the throttle it pulses a good bit of air into the exhast to keep you from spitting flames. Back in the day, that totally ruined the rotary's reputation, by the way

I just capped the port off What a world of difference...I think my cats must have been clogged because they have 180k miles on them and the car stopped pulling at about 5k, now it revs cleanly to 7k.

Thanks, it bolted up perfectly, hooked the EGR line up, capped the SE 6-port tube and the anti-afterburn tube on the 12a and it runs great....will try to post pics soon
