Will an 83 auto trans carb work on an 84 manual?

What known issues will I encounter using an 83 auto trans caburetor on my 84 manual?

Visible unassembled differences:
The 83-85 auto does not have the Richer Solenoid on the passenger side of the main body.
83 does not have the #2 MAB on the air horn at the Altitude Compesnsator.
83 does not have the Three Way Vacuum Solenoid next to the Secondary Diaphragm, but a single vacuum line solenoid.

There are some differences in the specifications for the fuel jets and air bleeds between manual and auto configurations.

Any insights will be greatly appreciated.

Hmmm, thats a good question. If using it as a stripped carb I would say, sure no problem just make sure you get the right base plate because the holes are probably different for the vacuum stuff. If you have a full rats nest OEM setup I would say maybe but you would have to drop it on and try it out. The base plate would still need to be from the 83 though I would think. @Jeff20B May have insight to this as well. Either way the jetting may need to be adjusted for the manual.

In another thread the 1480 spacer works for 81-85. A picture of the bottom of the 83 throttle shows the same configuration of vacuum holes as on the 84.
I do have a full rats nest OEM setup and in my recent search for a vacuum leak I verfied proper operation.
Adjusting the jets is not in my grade level.

I think my best option is to look for M/T 84-85 replacement parts rather than a mis-match.

Thank you for the information. I have a better understanding and direction.

The trans will bolt right up to the engine. In addition to the above, the driveshaft is different so you will need an automatic drive shaft. You will also need an automatic trans crossmember as well as needing a torque converter and counterweight.

My bad. The thread title is misleading. I was really asking about putting a carburetor for an automatic transmission, into a car with a manual transmission.
I'll see if I can edit the title.
