I am not big on it. Sorry not trying to dis you ideas, but when i think of wide body i want to see an in you face purpose built look. This one is to smooth. The line aren't bad, just way to smooth for a wide body.

Your design is nice. Like the Japanese widebody kits.
Even the Scoot 4 Rotor FD looks like that.

However, for FB's - I do like

The front looks good but the doors and rear don't look like they've been widened (is that a word?)

Anyone here do any 3d modeling, if so tell me, maybe we could team up and create a 3d model of a 7, then make some 3d bodykits. Ive worked with AutoCad and Milkshape 3d(better for models like this) and i think itd be cool to do this

You need to figure out how the door would open, without knocking off your front fender.

try useing the bowed out fender look off something like the bmw Z3. IMO smooth lines look best on the 7 not the hard sharp corner(edges) on your drawing I do like a vent at the rear of the front finders though.

Iotus looking good with your ideas.... I am in the process of doing the same thing and will be doing the plug for the mold from original fenders with modeling clay. Then I will build the mold with some Fiberglass and wood framing.

On tho the desing aspect of it all. I like your ideas but one strength of the FB was its light weight. After say that you have to take into accound the amount of weight that your kit will add. Goinng wide the full length of the body will add tremedous weight, unless you remove all the non-essential metal underneath it all. For example cutting out some of the rear fenders and removing the front and replacing them all together.

If you go wide the whole length of the car look into replacing the doorskins to reduce weight, but keep in mind the expense of it all if you want to keep the project viable.

Just my $.02

What the car needs:

No pannels on the door. Door extensions are heavy, useless, and ugly IMO.

Slits on the 1/4 pannel, Viper style. These not only look good, but allow a transition to the stock doors, and vacate heat from the engine compartment and fender well.
