i replaced the full window channel along the door frame and my regulators and motors, inner and outer top door seals that the window goes in between, and main door seals too. very rewarding job aside from the money it cost. ($600-$800).

I do Marcello but it's power.

My power windows have always been pretty good on the 4 GSLs I've beat up. The only problem I've had was the power windows on my white 84 GSL. If I didn't wait to put them up until I was going 50 mph or more the window would bind up. Apparently the car needs that extra vortex action to pull the window out and get it on the right track.

So yeah, our windows suck.

Wait, FB power windows have tracks? I've always just assisted the glass with my hands (one hand on the inside, one on the outside) and a friend in the car to activate the switch...

Holy crap thats smooooooth.

My windows go up and down reliably, but they sound like a powerdrill and occasionally the passenger window will fall off its tracks.

My car's got 37k original miles but the manual crank on the drivers side is hard going up or down. Any suggestions? I dont think the parts are worn since the milage is so low. Maybe I just need grease in there? I havent had the time to take it appart.

If your windows are so off alignment that you must drill out and relocate mounts your car must have been in some sort of accident or something to warp the door. Lithium grease does work wonders.

White Lithium grease, after a little cleaning and routine maintenance, is your friend! Works great on those squeaky doors too.
