Sorry guys but I just had to say it, sometimes I go to search for something and can't find it because the title wasn't named properly and searching by posts just gets you way too many results and becomes a waste of time. Alot of time i spend hours just trying to find it and get own my nerves (lol kinda like now) alot of people like to get their threads title with something that doesn't say anything about it. Heck I would even offer to go through some thread and just rename some titles (or just add in brackets beside it what its about).
Please?
lol

Yeah, even if you know the answer to a problem you might not see the problem if it has a dumb title like "help me", so the poor guy won't get his question answered.
There are a lot of posts every day, so I just click the ones I've had experience with or that I worry about for the future. there's already too much on the internet without chasing red herrings.

If you guys end up searching for something and find *useful* and *relevant* threads with crazy titles, let me know. I'm always looking for more good Archive material, and a while back I started prefixing the stuff in the archives with what section of the car they deal with... I still have to finish that, it's a work in progress.
Basically, if you have to search for something, that means other people are probably searching for it too. If it's not in the archives or the FAQ, let me know when you find your answer so that I can archive it!
I'd rather recieve too many "hey, you might want to archive this" PMs than too few.
Jon
Edit: That reminds me.... If you guys see awesome threads that are 1st-gen related in other sections let me know. I rarely visit other sections (other than 1st Gen, Canadian and the For Sale sections) so it's possible that great threads are being missed that could be added to our archive.

dj55b,
Your point is valid. Everybody says to "search" but sometimes it can be overwhelming. And the new folks may not see the search button or, more importantly, know how to use it successfully.
vipernicus42,
You guys do a wonderful job on this forum and it has helped me more than you can ever imagine.
Wouldn't it be great to type in a question like "How do I...", then click the magic 8-ball icon, and get an immediate and correct response? Well, that's not reality. Not here nor on any other forum. But I do think 98% of the questions that can be asked have already been asked (on these old cars) and the FAQ could be refined. What say we pick out the "top 100" questions and post concise, accurate, useful information with pictures. Put it on a CD too and sell it. I'll buy one!
CD #2 could follow shortly thereafter with most everything else that was missed.
Also, too little information is often given in the question. Maybe we could offer a question "template" of sorts that would list the car year, model, mods, etc and help define the problem and the symptoms and what led up to the problem so we can get away from "My car won't start, please help".
I have lots of free time on my hands and would be willing to help in any way that I can.
Thanks,
DD

Yea, I agree dj55b. Any more I don't even bother reading posts with titles like "Quick question" or "Help!". If you can't give me some sort of clue what the thread is about, I'm going to pass it up.
