I have NEVER felt it this strong in my life. The rebuild was done by my really good friend Allen (13B-RX3 here on the 7club). HE did an amazing job! I know this thread isn't really informative but i just wanted to share my happiness

I'm inspired. My white 84 GSL started flooding a few days ago, so with a little encouragement from this post I went out and extracted the carb today, got out the Haines manual and I'll tell you what, nothing ever sounded so complicated.
Almost enough to wish I had fuel injection. Almost.
Still hope to get it back together before the year is out, but it's gonna need neighbor Bobby's help. Good to know a carb genius. Better run as good as yours Marcello or I'm going to be disappointed.

Yes, float levels are important, but they rarely change on thier own. More people **** up a carb rebuild by changing the float levels rather than simply checking them. When checking the float level, carb gasket is included in the measurement.
A high float level will not make the rpms rise, vacuum leaks will however, and that is the most common cause of high idle after carb/intake/rats nest work.

I was there when they were rebuilding.....Allen did an awesome job, although scary at the same time. I'm glad I haven't attempted this rebuild, lol...All those little parts are scary...Hey Allen, you wanna come to San Antonio for a build, lol.....Marcello was all excited that night when Allen finished all the final touch ups on it....
Now I wanna have my carb rebuilt to be on the safe side....dammit....
As for pics, here's one:

That was from the day of the rebuild, instead of paying attention though, I was playing with the CF Helmet and the good 'ol John Deere
Also, when we got out there that morning, we decided to top off our tanks before getting to Allens house. Marcello did the routine oil check and noticed a pulley vibrating pretty bad. Shutting off the car, we saw his definition of weight reduction:

Luckily, Allen has a Rx-7 parts shrine at one of local shops, lol.....Swapped out without a problem! Thanks again Allen!

i wanted to get some pics of his rx3, but i think all the exhaust went to my head.
the caption for that pic should be "mad tyte tractor dorifto, yo"

Yup I think the float valve is stuck open (or the float sunk, which seems unlikely). Too bad you have to undo two dozen connections, extract the carb and tear the whole thing down to fix a little problem like that, but like blwfly says, it's a twenty (two) year old carb and probably needs a good cleaning anyway. Good buddy Bobby just called, headed over to the shop to see what we can do. We'll make sure to get the float level right!
By the way blwfly, what kind of pot you smokin' to get it that clean?
