Because they're driven by sedate conservative people, who believe in the premise that "people drive too darn fast these days!"

No offense intended to sedate conservative people.

I've only seen one brown 1st gen. It was parked at a shop on the end of my street, and I must say its actually a nice color in person. It looked to me like they blended a lot of the tornado silver and incorporated it into the brown paint. Those damn bean counters at Mazda...cutting corners wherever possible...

Funny thing is... all the brown RX7s i see in huntsville have their paint intact--unlike my sea foam green other's grey and blue...

You kiddin'? That's what killed my FC. The PO drove it gently all the time, eventually the engine carboned up and died of boredom.

Only 78k on it... non turbo FCs normally last more than twice that!

I've seen grey interiors... I don't think all 84/85 interiors are burgundy.

I'd like to ditch my burgundy interior though. If nobody want's it wafter I end up pulling it, I'll still keep it around. It's not in TOO bad shape.

I've seen far more(more than 2) silver FBs than any other color. Only other colors I can think of seeing recently with my own eyes is the nice bluish color.

Yep, my silver 84 has grey/blue interor

My search for a 1st gen has not been too productive. Most of the local cars are junk. The best ones I have found are 1 Brown and 1 Beige. At our local autocross there are as many brown and beige as red! Kinda funny. Maybe I could call it Racing Brown!

I like my color (light blue)... I just fixed some rusted spots under the hood (cuz of the previous owner's stupididty), but i could't get an exact match of my paint... so now it kinda looks funny (only under the hood)...
But i guess the off-color paint does look better than the butt-ugly rust...

My '85 -SE is dark grey with burgandy interior, and my '85 base is silver with black interior. Both are original

Gold is another color that seems there seems to be alot of. Mine was originally gold with a camel/chamois colored interior. I've noticed that that color of interior is rarer than most. Most of the gold 7's I've seen had brown interior in them.

Silver is the winner in this area. Followed by TBM.

Onle seen a couple blacks, golds, browns, and reds. Can't say I've seen any other color 'round here.
