Please, keep me updated. If the bottom is the finished product, and its carpet Fyber, i would like it!

thanks.

The bottom one is the "proposed" look. The actual product should luck Muuuuuuch better than that. I just suck at photo-shop.

I will keep you all updated, as it will pretty much be a "kit" for the 84/85 sevens, that will be available for everyone. Between this and a dual gauge Pod, I will have 6 gauges available without the car looking like the space shuttle.

There will be different styles and colors for the CF as well.

Just a caution, DirectFreak, the plastic surround that comes with the MP70 tends to pop off quicker than a Renault's interior trim. I deleted mine entirely and am fabricating a surround to hide the gap between stereo and dash console.

Because you're custom fabricating you may want to do something similar. The detachable stereo face is 6 3/4" wide and needs a little extra above & below for the motion of the flip-out face.

(note the 5mm gaps around stereo face)

Directfreak is it just me or did you use a light switch bezel for that little piece of carpet fiber trim?

Yep. The Sample pieces of CF's that I have are all on blank light receptacles.

Cool Molding. No A/C?

Wow. I never even thought about the Marble look.
Does the rest of the interior match? It’s not subtle, that’s for sure.

It a crappy picture but the marble look goes w/everything. I have a leather burgundy interior. I've also finished the gear shift surround and the door handle (plastic behind the door opener) the same way, so it's not to much overkill. The only other thing I've done w/the interior of my car is paint the inner rings of the guages silver.

Of course! Your picture made it look like chain-mail (you know, that armour mesh stuff) but I like that layout. I chose to leave the plastic trim piece off of my cd player but if it's a little larger, it would probably fit. If I get this thing I plan on getting another cd player for it, a more "upscale" edition.

I don't have alot of interior mods, and I'm kind of regretting the few I did do, since I really want to keep the car looking as stock as possible. Tho I think the empeg is worth it. <droool>

Mantis: I think yours looks the best though I would have went for a more flat black, but still very nice/modern over silver.

Speckamp: Sweet A/F guage, why did you mount it in a $20 universal stereo kit. =/

MyRxBad: wth... I vote bold and daring.

Damon: No A/C great, but what about the heat/fan controls. Are they mounted elsewhere or did I just miss the hole?

Directfreak: A carbon fiber kit would be sweet to modern up the look of the interior, hope it works out. lol, I got those nikes too.

Hehe... I know but I can't work on it during the sumer... I don't have access to the CAD/CAM lab...

Plus I'm working 6 day weeks right now... so I can afford it, lol...

I figure 6-8 weeks of good work and I should have it up and running...

Since I won't be working on it until September 6-8 weeks puts me in October/Novemeber...

And Hey, we've been waiting for BadAssRX-7's Sleepy eye kit a LOT longer...

Check out my avatar. So far just conceptual. The dash is actual picture from my 82 GSL. The screen will be a full color TFT 5 or 6" screen with A/V inputs. Below it is a DVD player and for a gaming system I'll be using my Dreamcast until I replenish my funds. But heh, I haven't gotten tired of Crazi Taxi 2 or Sega GT yet

Hopefully when I get it all finished it'll look better than the little bit of photoshopping I've done to my picture. Shouldn't be too hard to come in below the price of most car audio DVD/LCD combos out there since I've got the electronics background and good electrical parts resources to get stuff from. Plus I'll be doing all the custom molding myself to get things looking just right.

Now if I just had money to get a new car body that I could transfer everything into!!

All I've done to my dash so far was install a boost gauge. Do any of you other guys have this same problem with your boost gauge? Reads a little in the "-" range?
