When I'm grumpy I drop in just to ban someone's ***.

Actually the RX has been in the garage for most of the year, it won't pass inspection so I'm all bummed out about it. Plus lately I've had just toooo much on my plate to even deal with it. hmmm.... It think I'm gonna flip the bird to the law tomorrow and take her out for a nice run.

Thanks Carl! Yeah I'm here... been mostly a lurker or working on the servers for you guys. However lately I'm starting to feel like I need some rotary action in my life so on July 17th I'm heading down to South Jersey to the "Pan Am Nationals, Team Puerto Rico vs Team USA" at ATCO raceway. It should be a hellava lotta fun. Check it out: http://www.atcorace.com/artman/uploa...n_american.pdf

My 7 is idled and for sale, and I've been working long hours on getting our new bank opened. I've been getting my daily dose of DoO in the lounge, though..

My intentions are to sell the garage queen and start working on a track beater.

(In Ahnoold voice) I'll be baaack.

I wish. I've been down this road with the wifey. No room in the garage for a queen and a project car. Plus- I don't drive my queen as often as I should. I want to race at the track (5 miles down the road), but can't justify banging this one up for funsies..

If only I had a 3 car garage and unlimited funds and a wife who didn't put the 'either this OR that' question in front of me...

I have to agree, the total "quality" threads has declined significantly. Not as interesting posts as there were before.

If Only there were some good "Supercharger Vs Turbo" threads to kick it all up again. *sigh..*

My Car has been in the "almost" finished category for the last 4 months. The biggest problem lately has been the lack of brake pedal pressure since changing the rear end (Ford 8.8) with big 4 Piston Calipers in the rear.

1st there was too much lockup in the rear, then I added the CP Racing TII brake swap in the front, and the problems still persist. Even with an adjustable proportioning valve, etc..

Not exactly something to post in the 1st gen section, as it's not really a "common" problem.

But I still visit...

Oh and I bought a new house and am going to be moving soon. So all will have to be put on the "almost" back burner for another few.

you need a larger piston /bore size master cylander... delete the brake booster too.. get a willwood unit.. your mazda master cylander dosnt move enough fluid volume, no good, must eat more cheese......aaaahhhh getting weak

I have a TII Vacuum Booster and a Mazda 929 Master - It's BIGGER than an FD's Master. It's HUGE. Bigger than the Wilwood Unit. It's what the FD guys use when they need to upgrade.

I think I am just going to go single piston brakes in the rear, instead of the 4 pot brakes.

I'm definitely still a noob compared to a lot of you guys, been through two RX-7's and am working on keeping my 86 maxima wagon running (with some goodies ) till I get a job and then I'll get an RX-8 (eventually I'll be back to the 7's, don't worry). But I still check here every day just in the off chance i ::might:: be able to help somebody, not to mention rx7club.com is set as my homepage. and finally a shameless plug - my gsl-se is for sale, check the 1st gen for sale section

directfreak - the vid of you waxing that 350z is still my all time favorite video ever. keep up the good work! But stop cheating!!! NOS... ha, like we need it

the factory 929 master cy. has a residual valve in it, i believe, that may be what is causing too much pressure to the rear....
what size cailpers/ pistons did the 929 have in the rear? front?

i have willwood calipers in the rear and the brakes work perfect!!

Why not? Best place for a couple older members to discuss things, without making a bunch of newbies ask "How'd you do that?"

I tried PMing you, but you have them shut off.

PM Me with your AIM or Messenger name. I need to discuss this with someone
who has gone through this.

---------

Are you *Sure* it has a residual Valve built in?
It was originally perfect, and then after the first step on the brakes, they would lock up the rear alltogether.

I cut the rod inside the booster shorter, and now it doesn't lock up the rear, - but the travel is long and spongy.

I am getting tired of it..
