Look in the for sale section for 1st gens for the switches or look at www.blackdragon.com for most of it as well. The gas shocks that hold up the rear window need to be replaced.

Welcome to the forum.

+1 for blackdragon, if you have a shell you can build a car out of one of those (almost).

The hatch popping has nothing to do with the hatch struts. If you look under the light back in your cargo area thats where the mechanism is for the hatch pop. The struts only support the glass, and you do need new ones.

Do you have the choke pulled out ? You need to choke it on coller days like we're having now.

I didn't even notice the part about the hatch not popping, DOH! Check your wiring from the switch and then check the mechanism in the back to make sure its getting the correct voltage and signal. Probably bad grounds is causing you a lot of grief being that its a 79 and all.
