What is wrong with this FB?

Why is it like that under the hood? Everything spray painted black? Engine fire? Sorry if it sounds dumb but I'm curious.

Seller says the car doesn't start up and has been stored, he also mentioned "might" have electrical problems. I think its just flooded...

I dunno. From the picture it looks like flat spray paint, only because I don't see any soot on the engine.

pos... it's an auto... use it for a parts car!! Unless you want to put a manual in it... too much work, though.

No autos for me anyway. It also just looks painted though because the hood isnt burnt, and as DF said, no soot.

I'd assume the car was repainted and they didn't paint under the hood so the owner just sprayed it black to match.

Looks to me like a car to avoid at all costs. Even if you only pay $500 (too much in my humble opinion), you'll likely have spent enough in repairs over the first 6 months to buy a nice GSL-SE. But $100 for a parts car? Now we're talkin'...

Thanks for the replies guys. Yeah, its an auto but the interior looks great. I was thinking about it as a parts car if I get an FB in the future but its a bonus if I can unflood it and see if it starts up.

The guy is asking $300 but I can probably talk him down to $150 since its been up for sale nearly 2 months.
