What will suger do in our engine?

Are you serious, or just joking around with all the caps?
I know what sugar is supposed to do to a piston engine, but I don't think I've ever heard of the effects on the rotary. Somehow I would think the effects are minimized compared to those in a piston engine, really...
Sugar mixed in the gas basically candy-coats the innards of the engine.. sorta. What this does in a piston engine is sticks the valves in place leaving no way for gas to get in or out of the engine, and probably does quite a number on the cylinder walls.
In a rotary, the worst I could see happening would be that the apexes would get stuck in the compressed position, making you lose all compression... This would mimic a blown apex, but could probably be remedied with something to dissolve the sugar and help get it out. (I dunno.. would MMO or Amsoil do that?.. we'd have to see).
You'd have to flush the gas tank and lines, probably get your carb rebuilt, and MMO-the-**** out of the engine... but I don't think it would be as fatal as it is for our piston-powered counterparts.
Now remember, this is all just speculation from my mind while I try to logically think of what candy-coating the interior of both engines would do.
With some quick action and some real luck, you might get away with not having to rebuild the carb... lots of carb cleaner and some clean gas with fuel system cleaner in it... replace the spark plugs... Anything's possible with a bit of effort.
Anyone else wanna take a stab at it?

Well, I think suger will turn into carbon in the engine, and then what happens in details after that... I am not very sure, I suppose with some good amount of suger, it should sieze the engine good.
I am just curious to ask, however, there is an *** hole make me not comfortable.
Shall we share some car security issues here along with this fuel/suger topic?

i know exactly what it will do. i bought one a long, long time ago that came out of this guys rx7 after his g/f put sugar in his tank. it will lock it up in a way that's worse than carbon lock. i give $100 for it, took it to the radiator shop i was working at the time. took the plugs out and got some diesel fuel, heated it, and poured it in. freed it up in no time. put a bolt in one of the clutch pressure plate holes to make a "crank" handle and flushed all the sugar out. then got some gas, battery, and an old tranny for the starter and fired it up right there in the floor. put it in a '73 rx3 and that thing was a screemer.
i heard sugar does nothing at all. my autotech teacher worked for gm for 25+ years and did a couple gas tank replacements because of this. he said all it did was crystalize at the bottom of the tank, so there was this huge sugar block floating around at the bottom of the tank that made noise. he said he never saw any of the cars with sugar in the tank have a bad motor because it never made it to the motor. plus, what about the fuel filter, and so on.
now if you REALLY want to **** someone's motor up.. put water in there.. bam, hydrolock

Go ahead and put about a pound of granulated sugar in your own tank, Then prepare to have a long and frustrating weekend. I helped un sugar a boinger one time . enough. What did you do to get someone that pissed at you? funny story. My buddy had an old int scout, with two tanks. someone was stealing gas from him . So he filled the old cruddy tank not yet restored and inop, with gas and sugar and locked the other tank. We found their car about a half mile away , covered with flys.

Mmmmm.... candy coated innards
Anywho...I once was told that there is an old mechanic somewhere in the area where I am from, and he would pour coke (the drink) down carberators to clean the engine, non rotaries.... apparently he's done it for years.......You'd think with the amount of sugar in that would that not cause some issues....

how about... well, this thread is pointless and obviously it's not good for it so why again are you asking?
and if he has poured sugar into his engine he's got more to worry about than wether or not his car runs...

Tanjo, what planet have you been spending most of your time on?
Sugar dissolves in liquid! It dissolves in both water AND gasoline.
Alot of things that *don't* dissolve in water *do* dissolve in gasoline. Styrofoam for example. Styrofoam + Gasoline = a napalm-like substance which sticks to things and burns for long periods of time.
Don't ask me how I know that
The filter wouldn't catch it if it dissolved in the gasoline, the same way the filter doesn't catch water if it's mixed in the gas.. or two-stroke. The filter can only catch solid particulate.
As for sugar just forming a solid in gasoline... well if you left it long enough it MIGHT sediment, but I doubt it.
What I would like to know is what would DIESEL do in our engines? I know what it does in a piston engine... it burns anyway spewing huge clouds of smoke behind the car. I think I remember someone posting about it not too long ago though.. well it didn't explode... so I guess it's not worth wondering about..
Am I the only one who found this funny?:
