I just installed the Racing Beat Power Pulse (http://racingbeat.com/resultset.asp?PartNumber=16433). Looks almost stock, fit absolutely perfectly, and I think it sounds nice.

I've got the RB SP kit. I LOVE IT. Very nice setup, quiet when your cruising, and up the dB's a bit when you stomp the loud pedal.

My friend Eric has the Racing Beat on his... Beautiful tone.

I have stock, but I'm getting RB ASAP

I've heard that some of the other brands can't live up to the heat and pulsing of the rotary exhaust, so I'd be careful about the quality of what you buy.

The VB mufflers are Pacesetter. They are cheap RB look alikes.Dont know about the mufflers, but if they are anything like the Pacesetter headers, avoid them.

The RB is pricey, but its the best muffler out there. Its made for a rotary,by a rotary specific company. No other can quiet a rotary as well, and look stock doing it.They're made in Italy, with very thick construction. The tips suck, but thats easy to fix.
And for those who say they are restrictive,my streetport RB muffler passes 14psi of boost from my 13BT,with no problems and nearly no sound.

RB is overrated. To me a RB system sounds ricey. I much prefer a slightly louder rotary. My 12A sounded sooooo sweet when I had my custom exhaust on. I used a magnaflow muffler as a presilencer and an N1 style canister as a rear muffler. It looked pretty good too. But now that I'm going to have a streetport 13B in the car with a header, I don't know what its going to sound like. The car it was in sounded like a racecar. A nice raspy sound to it, but loud as hell. I wanna keep that raspy sound, but don't want it quite as loud.

I used the pacesetter exhaust from Vb in my old 7 and honestly i thought it was a great setup. It sounded better than stock and i never had a problem with quality. Bolted right up like the stock muffler and worked great. This was about 5 years ago and the last time i saw the car (yeah i sold it) last spring, it was still performing perfect. I say go for it man.
Right now im running a ghetto setup of an unknown brand header to a glasspack and a presilencer off a 98 Zx2. Sounds great but im sure my neibors hate it!

I'm using the RB single outlet header and two presilencers with a Magnaflow 2.25 in, dual 2.5 out muffler. It's loud but very distinctive. I've got an audio clip on my webspace:

If you're looking for a quiet exhaust, the RB muffler is quiet and sounds pretty nice and there's no doubt about it's durability. The only caveat is the cost. My Magnaflow was less than a 1/3 of the cost of a new Powerpulse muffler.

I have the RB setup and am happy with it. Mindtrain exhaust sytems are a bit cheaper/louder from what I understand.

I have a set of headders i built...2.25 inch pipes straight all the way back to my Subaru WRX muffler...looks almost stock...you need to modify it to get it to bolt in...the elbow right after the muffler dosn't mesh well with the space for the muffler...but if you cut it before it turns...flip it and weld it back on your done...

from what the people i talked to said before i bought the muffler...was that the WRX is made for a 2.5L turbocharged engine and should be more than capable of handling the extra heat of a rotary.

i run Racing beat header and presilencer. In the center section i have a rice boy 8" silencer. amasingly is had held up very vell it was steel filled. and for a rear muffler i run a dynomax all welded half steel half fiberglass pack straight through. tone has not changed at all in over a year plenty of racing and backfires. people are over protective over mufflers. the only ones that might not really last as far as performance go are any baffled muffler that isn't a racingbeat. pacesetter sucks and flowmaster will eventually break apart inside. I had a flowmaster 40 series in my old civic. note this wasn't your avarage rice civic it was a badass '83 webered and everything.. and the civic blow apart the flowmaster icould only imagine what a rotory would do to one.

I'm using two steel packs that then go to a Y pipe and a Dynomax muffler. Sounds pretty boss.

Mufflers? You mean I'm supposed to have those on my car I run a full custom exhaust that I built. Full stainless, 2.5" downpipe, moroso spiral flow presilencer, and 2.5" straight pipe under the axel and out the back. I used to have a shitty apexi n1 style muffler, but when I ripped it off and put straight pupe in its place, my exhaust got QUIETER, and had a much better tone.

the key words there were n1 style tha real Apex N1 muffler uses the berulli (sp?) effect to quiet the exhaust. thats why the extra cost over the imitations which are straight through

yea the sp? means i knew i was destroying the spelling... the begining of the muffler chokes the exhaust a little increasing pressure and lowering it outside the exhausts path. making the exhaust sound waves move more freely into the sound dampining..
