Can anyone tell me what these two relays are for, as well as the cylinder shaped thing bolted to the left relay (1st pic)? They are on the drivers side near the brake booster. The left relay has a four wire connector plugged into it and says window relay on it, but my car has manual windows (4th pic). The right relay has several wires plugged into it with two going through the passenger side firewall (2nd and 3rd pic).
My car is a 79. Just wondering if I can get rid of these since I swapped in a 4port NA with fuel injection running from a Haltech ECU years ago. I do have stock interior accessories and gauges though, so not sure if they will affect any of that.
The one in pic 2 and 3 is an A/C relay. It has the yellow, blue, red and black wires. This one is installed when the A/C was installed and I don't think is on the wiring diagram.
The other one in pic 4 looks like the B06 relay, another A/C related one. This one was installed at the factory and has Green/Yel, Green/Wht, Black/Wht and Black wires going to it.
The metal cylinder is a condenser which is normally hooked to the voltage regulator, which on a 79 is usually mounted in that left rear corner of the engine bay. Your car must be modified in some way(s).
By the way, that first relay and both sets of wires coming from it, They should all just unplug from the harness. I'd be interested in obtaining them from you if you aren't going to use em?
