what is a street ported 12A supposed to sound like?

im wondering if my 12a is in fact SP. if the idle is below 900 rpm it "lopes" and the motor shakes a little. but if i mess with the carb and adjust the idle it smooths out with at 1000 rpm. wondering if its actually ported and not a tunning issue. the car pulls and revs with no hesitation and gets great gas mileage

anyone got videos of a street port 12A?

I am sure there are SP 12A vids around. If not, I can get a vid or 2 of mine probably this weekend. I should anyways, thinking about it.

Also, if it gets great gas mileage, the possibility of it being ported is low (er).

All I know is there was a HUGE difference in performance and acceleration in mine. Stock vs SP I mean. Also installed light steel fly at the same time, but yeah it kicks *** and is pretty damn fun.

The light steel flywheel would be the biggest factor. Stock flywheels just don't accelerate that fast.

well i was told that my motor had been rebuilt and had a mild street port but i was just making sure. my SP FC i had sounded different.

after seeing vids of stock FB's compared to my car i can honestly say there is a giant difference in power.

Vids of my old 7. Streetported, Sterling carb, header to straight pipe to Power Pulse muffler.

Engine bay sound when flooring it.

Sound from within cabin, while revving up to 8k rpm in 1st and 2nd gears:

They are hard to record out on the street. But I took this one last weekend at the OGTA meeting.
