What is this sensor for?

Alright,

So when i was pulling the carpet yesterday, i noticed a sensor which i don't ever recall hearing about, and i tried browsing through the manuals and didn't find anything, I didn't have time to trace back to where the wire was going but i was hoping you guys would know.

The sensor is located right behind the passenger seat rail and has like a burgendish top to it. Looking under the car it seems to be right ontop of exhaust heat shield, Can't actually see where the end is. I took some picture and i'll post them up later on tonight when i get back home if you'd like to.

?? Now I'm puzzled ... so what was the one hooked to the stock exhaust manifold? there was a tube hanging off the exhaust manifold and and with 2 crews on there held another electrical sensor

Actually I should rephrase that .. it wasn't on the manifold it was on one of the tubes about 1/2 way through the car ... thats what i thought the over heat one was.

Need pictures. There is no tube that comes off of the exhaust manifold. There is a Air tube that comes off the back of the intake manifold and goes to the catalytic converter. It has a check valve at the top near the intake but no electrical connections. It is just for fresh air from the air pump to help heat the cat up for emissions.

You can find out more about it, for both the cat thermo sensor and the overheat exhaust sensor in chapter 4A of the online FSM.
