what port to which sidedraft?

I'm just fishing for suggestions for what is the the best mix of sidedraft carb/porting combination for street. its just my summer car so drivability is nice but not overly important. i was thinking like weber 48ida with a bridgeport? i just need suggestions.

very interesting, i think the 48ida is a deffinate since i could 1. run it with my current stockport with exhaust, 2. use it with either the sp or bp, 3. turbo it later on. just deciding on what would be the better bet, sp or bp?

If you want it to be streetable or do plan on going turbo, streetport it. A 2 barrel sidedraft, even on an 12A 1/2 bp can be a real pita to drive around town. Btw, Weber IDAs are downdraft, not sidedraft carbs.

Hell ya, ida 48 with a street port(large even ports), thats what pushes my 7 and i have no drivability complaints, excellent set up , I have recently looked into a setting up a trubo and its a bit of work but can be done some parts a hard to find but they are out there, i previously had a 1/2 bridge 12a with my ida and it was a PITA to drive around the city, but great out on the highway, I find my street port to have almost a much power up top, but it starts making power at a much lower rpm, if you want to go all the way up to a 1/2 or full bridge, a four barrel carb may give you more drivability/lowend from what i have heard

EpitrochoidalPower! has the link to start jetting from if you do go with the ida, you will need to fine tune to your aplcation from there, i recomend getting a wideband o2 sensor for accurate mixture readings to help jetting, i use the AEM uego kit excelent tool, real time display on the dash of a/f mix.

48mm carb is too small for a bridge, go with a streetport.. also i sell parts to turbo prep the ida if you decide to go turbo later on..
