The link inside the link had the answer, but I'm not going there again to spoon feed you. It was the same as stock, highway driving...9 series of whatever those guys were babbling about. They mention at least 3 different types there if you'll just read it and take notes...

I was using cut-down Autolite 3923's. They work great and are cheap and can be found anywhere. I think I was gapping them at .040".

I actually like the NGK BR8ET's that are factory-spec on '80 but they require a special spark plug socket if you try to use them in '81-up housings. They're just too expensive and hard to find.

The answer is that the same plug works for an MSD direct fire setup as the stock recommendation if you don't want to side cut. You might want to experiment but the highway heat range of -9 seemed to work best for them. Pull out the Mazdatrix catalog and order the plugs for your year engine in the -9 range and you'll be fine.

today i went and bought the stock secong gen plugs the people at shucks said that that would prolly be best... bur9eq for trailing and bur7eq for leading what do you think about that i'd hate to put something in thats gonna fudge me up.. should i take back the 7eq's and just use 4 bur9eq's?? i do mostly city driving and plan to auto cross or dragrace once a month is what i got good or what?? these plugs look very very shrouded and i heard thats bad.. right now in the car it has the stock req autolites and it kinda feels weak on the top end what should i do??

He runs 10s, no one else does in this forum unless Padilla is here somewhere...his ignition system is spiked maximus...your MSD direct fire will also keep the plugs clean...these will last...unless the bozo in front of you has a 12A doing tens, his advice on plugs is worthless...well, not worthless, but not worth considering...

temperature range that the spark plug operates at...the lower the number, the hotter the plug is in running conditions...9 is a fairly cold plug, but with direct fire, it shouldn't build carbon on itself or foul-up...for an '83 stock 12A, the NGK BR8EQ-14 is recommended, but direct fire is not stock...again, if ajc13b is running 10s with those plugs (those plugs being NGK BUR9EQs all around...), I don't think shrouding is a real problem...
