As questioned in the title...If there is such a way?

Time to step up a bit.

what is, not is there, i could say... haltek, motec microtec, then fuel injectors/pump/sensors to support. if your going cheap, you could try megasquirt... hit up the ECU forum.

There are plenty of DCOE-style throttle bodies available, or you could try just using your carb as a throttle body. Add some injectors to the intake manifold, make a basic fuel rail, control it with a MegaSquirt... could be done fairly inexpensively.

Grassroots Motorsports had a good write up using some 13b stuff and Megasquirt.

yes due to the fact that you're smart and unfortunately, I can tell that you know what your options are (FI intake and aftermarket ECU). However, what you want to hear is how to go the cheap route which somewhat doesnt exist and you know this already.

Pick up a throttle body from Fuji Racing or Tweakit and you can still use your side draft manifold.

Cheapest ECU would be a disassembled Megasquirt. You can get a good ECU for around $200 new, less if used. If assembling is not your thing, you can get a new top of the line assembled ECU on ebay for around $400 last I checked.

Grab some injectors from an S4 TII or from a -SE.

All you have to do after that is the wiring, which is always a fun job.

Thanks... The reading begins yet again... Hope the fact that I'm a Systems Architect gives me some leg up on the megasquirt end...

Albeit I am a software developer.... I am not going to try this!

There is soooo much info on this topic that it gets your head spinning. Just the megasquirt aspect of it... stuff from AronCake and so fourth.

My hats off to you guys that have done this.

I was thinking... use my mikuni as a tb have 2 bungs put into the manifold... slap on an ecu and boom... yeah right!

I think this is a longer harder journey than the blowthrough and rebuild itself.

I picked up my Microtech and harness used from the FC guys and it works like a charm. I bought a package deal, but estimate that the Microtech cost about $300 to $400.

If you want to experiment, I have a GSL-SE manifold and throttle body laying around that I would give you for the shipping costs.

I think if you find a 12A Dellorto LIM, and bolt the GSL-SE FI stuff to it, it'd work.... No???

Edit: N/M Just saw the giant hairdryer...

Yeah, it'd work, but you still need to add injector bungs, since the -SE UIM doesn't have any. At that point you're not saving on a whole lot of effort.

Yep, there's a definite learning curve involved. That's why people go blow-through in the first place: simplicity. Using something other than a MegaSquirt would make it easier, but also more expensive.

But for some, the journey is the destination.

Thanks I appreciate the offer but I'm going to hold off until I learn more before making any investments... but again... thanks.
