What kind of LSD can I use?

I was wondering if I can use the T2 LSD in my 85 GS, or do I have to swap the whole rear end? Can I use the GSL-SE LSD/ rear end? do I also have to swap the rear axles too? How much work will be have to be done, will it be a direct bot-on/fit or will I have to do some fabrication? How much power can a T2 LSD/SE LSD handle? I'm planning to street port my car also in the future. I want to get LSD the cheapest, fastest, easiest way as possible so I can smoke some one wheel peelers hahahahaha

-Thanks,
Brian

Nope... all turbo RX-7s use a 8 inch ring and pinion, all 1 gen RX-7s have a 7 inch ring and pinion.

Though all LSD from a 84-85 RX-7 will work. All N/A RX-7s from 86-91 will work and 94+ Miata Torsen units will work, though they are pricey and rare to find in the junk yard. A complete 94+ LSD rearend setup ie, 3rd member, axles, and drive shafts, will bring 1000 dollars easy.

Or you use a brand new TBD style that are better than an LSD from somewhere like Guru Racing (or RX7.com (Ari Yallon) who has a couple of the Miata ones) for I think $795. Well it is $795 if you buy direct from guru racing.

We just discussed this like 2 days ago.

Limited Slip Differentials typically use a viscous coupling - a series of clutch plates turning in fluid that locks up after a certain amount of 'slip', so traction goes to both wheels equally.

A Gleason TorSen differential uses worm gears to mechanically send traction to the wheel with the most traction.
