dude, if you have access to the board, why can't you get stuff online? they pop up in the For Sale section all the time.

if money is the issue (doubtful if you're restoring an Rx-4) and you already have the K03, then why don't you sell it and use the proceeds to buy a Hitachi. the alternative is simply wait until you get a more suitable turbo.

the bottomline is if you use the K03, it will probably self-destruct in short order. the turbine on that thing will probably **** itself if you idle long enough (i exaggerate, but you should get the picture).

No Newbie the thread is about, What kind of HP is the 12a capable of. If it was about mods then it would be titled, "What kind of mods does it take to make more HP on a 12a"?

There is a very good thread in the archives on HP mods for the 12a. There is also the links in the FAQ section that address that question.

I haven't read all the post, so I don't know if anyone has mentioned it yet, but there is a 12a (possible more) that is running the 8's in the 1/4 mile.

But that car obviously has extensive porting, big turbo and nitrous, and is in a full drag chassis, but it shows the potential.

And I too just read through the comments to find this is a super old thread, so the original posted will more than likley never read this comment.

I'm just shooting for around 200 hp, for now. I thought that I couln't run more than 6psi of boost on the n/a rotors. the only other option I can think of is a T3 out of a merkur, but I'll check that specialty shop first. Also, I was told that you can get about 800 hp with periphrial porting, and a supercharger, amongst other little bits, but that's just what I heard.

The most powerful 12A i know of, beside Roberts 730RWHP, is Simtech racing`s old engine. It netted 595 in street trim, at about 2.2 Bars of boost, a little over 30Psi. Do a search for Simtech RX2 on youtube, there are some videos around.

The engine was sold some years ago, and its still alive and kicking in a BMW E30 3 series...

the rotors can be a limit, but the truth is you can run several times that boost level on stock rotors. it's a matter of being realistic about output based on what you put into the overall setup. porting, turbocharger, engine management, fuel support, charge cooling - all of these and more MUST be factored.
