What is a fair price for an 84 GSLSE with a 351 Windsor?
Hi all
Before I hand over the cash, what do you feel is a fair price for the following
1984 GSL SE with a 351 Windsor.
She claims dyno over 400hp
The car appears rust free.
Everything works but the speedo...
Interior is clean but butt ugly red.
Thanks in advance for the tips...I will follow up with what I paid but don't want to taint the numbers in advance.

Hey Colin,
No hate here but if you are a true Rx7 enthusiast and want to be a contributing member of this forum and website I'd say take a pass on the car. Removing the rotary from an Rx7 is akin to ripping the soul out of the car and frankly an attitude like that really can't find a home in this society of rotary engine worshippers. Unless you plan to restore the 13B back into it, I'd look for another Fb and consign this one to one less enllghtened.

Colin,
Nothing personal, but the folks in here (myself included) are pretty anti-engine swap---as least with anything other than another rotary. We're not closed-minded; it's just that we have a certain perspective on the car.
You'll find a more accommodating mindset in other forums (or even the V8 Swap subforum on this website).
Good luck!

If V8 RX-7s were so great, why do they always come up for sale? I suppose if I had a V8 powered RX-7, I'd want to get rid of it too. Makes sense.
Well, don't pay too much for it. They aren't worth much.

Aside from any sense of rotary purity, any modified car is worth quite a bit less than an unmolested example. The reason is, of course, you don't know the quality of work that went into those mods. V8 RX-7s, in particular, seem to be projects of cheapness (ie: a V8 is the cheapest way to make NA power) so I'd always be leary.
That's a purty car! As long as it is manual trans I'd be all over it. If you want to stick with a rotary I'll trade you for my black 85 gsl!
As far as straight up cash value, if it is rust free I'D PAY 3 to 4k for it if the swap was done well and is reliable. If the 351 is dyno'ing at 400 then its got some value on it's own.....
