ive had the same setup for years and i love it. ive never had a problem with overheating.
Im using a Pontiac Fiero fan that i grabbed from a junk yard ($20-$30), it is almost a perfect fit, just sits 1/2 inch lower than the radiator. I also bought an adjustable thermostat from BlackDragon Automotive, no more than $30

Taurus fan, my finger.

Got it rigged to a switch. When it gets warm, flick it on.

I have a Derale controller that is set to turn the fan on at 180 degrees. I've never had any problems with it. It also came with everything needed to install it properly. The wiring, the probe, the relay, and the relay harness were all in the box.

1st Gen MR2 fans with a $18.00 fan controller from Autozone. Works great, no issues.
