If I where you I would make sure that the car itself hasn't started to rust. Underneath the fiberglass rear quarter panels, there is metal from the old panels that they cover. You might want to find out how long the tail lights have been removed and if the car has been outside most of the time since then.

If its been a while and the car has been outside that's an open invitation for extra moisture and pest. If there is a lot of rust, or if it has started rust (from the inside out) you could always remove the kit and install it on your current Rx7, but then again you would be close to square one again, install the widebody kit VS just getting paint job for your Rx7?

the car right now has no interior in it, therefore it is easy to check for the dredded bin rust... I think im gonna meet the guy tomorrow and ask him some more questions about it. Ill double check tomorrow and see where im at...
