What do you guys think, to paint or to Widebody?
Well guys here is my dilema...
I can paint my car, gonna be a big time pain in the *** a ton of work and a ton of money...
Or...
I can buy this widebody chassis locally that is freshily painted widebody, with a rollcage, needs rims/tires (to fill up the fenders), and a engine and stuff (which I have)...
I am thinking im gonna go the widebody route, the car looks nice, its black with a tasteful looking spoiler (I think its a whale tail)... But im going to go take a closer look at the condition of the car tomorrow. I can get the widebody, and do all the work myself (transfering stuff over from my other car) for much cheaper then doing autobody work, and IMO it will be more satisfying.
Whats your opinions on the situation?

Terrified.
I'd say go with the widebody as well. I'm not big on widebodies at all, but like someone said previously, you get more bang for your buck and if you are considering it, then you're obviously into the widebody look, so go with that.

It usually is a tossup, on some cars widebodies look really good, but in my opinion a wide body on a 20 year old car is just alittle weird. Just do whatever you will feel satisfied with.
Atleast if you get the widebody first you can paint everything at once when the time comes.

The thing is the widebody has pretty fresh paint on it... It was an abandoned project by someone, I have no clue what kit is on it, and the owner does not know either. The only concern of mine is going to be buying 12 inch wide rims with some huge tires. The previous owner has been telling me how he was going to get some 12 inch wide american racing rims with lamborghini countach tires, 335/35/15. Expensive but damn would it look nice...
If I have a opportunity I will take some pictures, it looks pretty tasteful from what I have seen from it, its painted black and has a very nice looking whale tail. You rarely if ever see another FB around here, and personally I don't know of any other cars like this one in Canada (I very well could be wrong about that).

I would go with the widebody only if you have the motor to backup the car.....I mean, like a 13b-rew, 20b, 13bt, or a 13b with the camden 12inch supercharger, lol....I saw this honda with a ghetto *** wannabe widebody/BMW kit on it....but it was an all stock motor with an aftermarket tach and shift light, lol.....

i dont agree with that at all. theres a very nice widebody SA in my town for sale. i looked at it about a year ago in this guys storage building. some very nice older cars are in there. it has epilsons, but im not sure which kit. i would have bought it then but it wasnt what i was looking for. it had a stock 12a in it and now has a new 12a in it that never got hooked up because his daughter decided she didnt want to drive it anymore. my dad new his daughter, so its been sitting in this building for a while. im currently trying to get ahold of this guy again so i can see about posting the car up for sale on her so the beauty doesnt go to waste.
i used to hate wide body firstgens, esspecially the CP kit. they have grown on me after seeing lots of the forum members wide bodies. honestly, it sounds to me like the widebody is a better buy. it also sounds to me like you already have you mind made up you just want reassurance. this about this though, as this is what turned me away from that wide body, practicality. this wide body is lowered and would require some work just to get the car off the ground. speed bumps and other obstacles would be an issue too.
basically, if you dont have to worry about that stuff, get the widebody ASAP and POST PICS

ya the car looks somewhat similar to that... But right now its parked outside under like 2 inches of snow... its kinda sad I need to go pick it up and save it!
And as far as the motor to back up the car thing... I couldn't agree with you more, but this is going to be a project car, eventually it will get a 13b-rew or a T-II swap or something along those lines. But one thing at a time...

I took a couple shitty pictures tonight to give you guys an idea, honestly this is the best view I have had of the car as well. I am going to try and take a look at it tomorrow while its light out.
It appears that the one rear window could be busted out, but I have parts from my other car that can be used. At this point I am just hoping that its a five speed though, because a swap would be a big pain... Sorry the pictures aren't better, and like I said earlier its a shame to see a car with potential sitting outside in the winter.
I know its pretty much impossible, but if anyone recognizes this kit please speak up.... Like I said though its VERY hard to tell from this angle with it this dark...

haha I know the GSL-SE rims look rediculous on it, its just a project car that was never finished though. As soon as I can afford some 12" wide rims, and some huge tires the car could really start to come together. It looks perfect because the car is missing a few things right now (tail lights) but I can just use the parts from my old car to make it look good...
