What color to paint an engine....

I have been thinking of a color as my trade mark in engines..

I wanted to go with a red and maybe just polish the housings,I was also thinking if just stamping the plates I port,BUT I need to find a plate I can use to stamp a name on the plates..

On my 84 12A I was thinking* of bridgeporting it and painting it the gheyest pink paint I can find..So when I woop on some Hunda boys and open the hood to see that little 1.2L in pink ..What a embarassing lost right?lol

Has anyone here painted thier plates? If so what colors and 500 or 900 or 1200 degrees?

Right now im painting this engine im building/porting Crysler orange, thats what the owner wanted so its no problem,I will have pics up soon. The orange is sweet I just did the water pump housing and it came out sweet,It still looks wet and glossy..I put about 4 coats on..make it thick for chipping

I wanna do my next one yellow with polished housings...I couldnt imagine it in my head so I found a picture of a red engine with polished housings (recently posted) and photochopped it. I think it looks good. So, when I rebuild mine, it wil be yellow and polished, or yellow and something...

My official engine color is Ford's Jade Green Metallic on the side housings, silver paint on the rotor housings. Why? My first car was that color (code 4Q), and it was a really unusual color that year. And I don't like the look of polished aluminum... engines should be grimy not shiny.

BEst idea is a light colour that'll show any seeping or weeping should the engine leak later in life

My Nikki carb wasnt "Blue"

I want to see some pics of some painted engines, some wild ones..and some basic ones..

Yeah it would be some **** to get beat by a car, then to see the little rotary engine and painted pink..that will take the cake..Theres a Honda dealership by my house "Hondaland' they always throw car shows and you guessed it its a rice fest...

I want to pull up with a pack of ported rotarys, then call some of them out to run..I dont think they will do ****..

I would run a pink engine that is running in the 11s or 12s..but I would not support the gay movement by painting my engine the same colors..

Sorry Pratch if I offended you..it must be yoru engine...

I agree. Both aluminum and steel are beautiful when polished. When I get around to my rebuilding my GTU's 13B and my spare 12A I'm going to polish the hell out of every visible part and then find some hi-temp clearcoat.
