What clutch? Motor or transmission ?

Running an 79' Rx7 with a 12a 84 Bridgeport mated to a an 84 transmission.

Short of the long, our trans is in the way out. We have a gsl-se transmission due to our 5.0 swap on another car.

We also have a spare rebuilt 13b S4 Engine that will be dropped in when needed.

Do I use a clutch matched to the motor or transmission? Or are they the same anyway?

If they are different, my thoughts are everything mated to the engine except the throwout bearing, as that rides on the transmission shaft.

Thanks

You always use the clutch matched to the flywheel that is match to the rotating assembly for stock flywheel.

So for your 1984 12A, you need a 225mm clutch disc. You can get away with a 215mm, but why.
