What can I get for this hot car?
I’ve had my ’84 RX-7 GSL for 13 years and now that it’s time to sell, I have no idea what to ask for it. What do you guys think it’s worth?
224k miles; rebuilt at 190k
New tires, windshield, cat. converter, & alt.
Inside is in great condition
Glass and regular roof

I'd give her $800 for it, tops. And that would just be so I could use it for parts.
Not trying to be a dick, but she's better off parting it out.

It's clean for being a Seattle car though. We have these things called Bens that buy 26 rx's and ruin them to the wildest extents of your imagination. If someone wanted a clean car and was not an enthusiast she might get 1300 for it. I don't think she'd get more than $1000 from a local tuner though. There are cleaner tuner owned cars for 1000 around here.

What!!!!!!
Look at how cherry that thing is!!! Yall must be tryin to get yourself a good deal. That would be an awesome go for a weekend drive car. The paint on that baby looks hella awesome.
Plus dont you be hating on the red interior!!! I love the red!
Id say if you find the right buyer, you can get an easy 1500+

Dude, I hope you don't drive under the influence of whatever it is that you're smoking. I don't want luxury in an RX-7. It's a sports car. It's not a luxury car. And, automatics from the early 80's aren't exactly the same as paddle shifted autos of today, my friend.

C'mon guys, the body is in awesome shape. If there's no bin rust, I don't care that it's an auto, it's worth cash.
It's getting bloody hard to find 7s in that good shape. Yeah, the auto makes it worth a bit less, but you guys are on crack if you think that interior's in bad shape. Sure it's the "what were they thinking" burgandy color, but a lot of 7s have that, and it's got less fading than most of the burgandy 7s I've seen around here. (where stuff's all GREEN).
Glass sunroofs sell for $100-200 alone
Rebuilt engine 50kmiles ago is a lot newer than stock
If it's a GSL, that means LSD and Discs, worth more there.
Honestly? I'm gonna give this car $4k even WITH the auto.

Auto is rarer, but for anybody who's into these kinda cars, you're more likely to see someone who wants to drive it like a sports car (ie: shifting it manually).
Blue book value, yes. But blue book means little for cars this age. The blue book value for my 7 is $900, because it doesn't take into consideration that it's never been *winter* driven, and that it has 6k worth of upgrades in it. But unless I get a professional appraisal, that's what it's worth to my insurance company (who uses bluebook).
Personally, I think it's worth the money to have it professionally appraised. Sell it for half the value of the appraisal (because that will be like 10k, and nobody's gonna pay that), and the fact that you have an official appraisal sheet in hand for the car is going to mean alot to potential buyers, if it's from a reputable company. At least it would to me.
