Question what is 2GDFIS ????

ok i was looking on the site to see if there is an MSD system for 1st gens and i saw a bunch of people talking about 2GDFIS.what exactly is this and what are the benafits of doing somthing to my car i would never beable to remember what its called lol ?

After reading your post on destroying dizzys...this will not help if you are having dizzy gear problems on the current setup. Make sure your electronic dizzy is fine first.

BUT....this allows you to use a 2nd gen leading coil, using the dizzy as a trigger (almost like a CAS). THis eliminates the leading ignition running thru the dizzy, doubles the life of cap and rotor (since they are only used for trailing ignition.), and smooths out the power curve.

WIth a few wiring mods (available on the forum), it works great, with stock or MSD box. The 6A/6AL will give you more spark from the system and really helps with large ports/carbs.

The coil is cheap (or free depending the size of your pocket) and can usually be found and the junkyard.
