What is this?

What is that pump looking thing right above the charcoal canister? It has some kind of line running into it.

the one cable line isn't connected to anything, the hose that runs off the top of the thing connects to a vacuum hose that runs into the carb.

Hehe, no, it's your cruise control I believe.

The only thing that makes me say that is because I have a 1984 GS and my friend eric has a 1984 GSL. The only differences between the two cars are power windows and cruise. And that's obviously not connected to the power windows.

Well say goodbye to the cruise control then. Anything else I can remove related to it?

I've been wanting to find out if i can remove those vacuum switches that are on the same line as it, but no one will tell me what the switches do.
