welp, i just installed a brand new pacesetter monza muffler...

went in real easy like. I dont much care for the ugly chrome an yellow tips, but it was the cheapest i could find. sans taxes, it was 177$can.

unfortunately, since im selling the car within the month, i wount be able to tell you how it worksa in the long run, but i just wanted to post something for posterity. Id heard complaints from people that these things were so poorly made that they wouldnt fit on. Apparently, at least not ALL of them are like that.

It's not the muffler that goes on hard - it's the monza header's that can be tough to bolt up. I don't think anyone has had a lot of complaint with fitting the muffler. Shouldn't take too long to diagnose the muffler - I've heard the yellow tips last about a week.

the best part is when the mesh holding the packing inside comes loose... then it starts to rattle.. hehe..

Man I never had much trouble with pacemakers, other than the stud holes on the header not lining up well. Yea the yellow tape band does come off quick. LOL, but otherwise not a bad deal for the money.

I was thinking about picking up one of their headers. You guys would recommend not doing that?

I had one of their headers. Yes they start to rust quickly but mine is about 4 years old and on its second car. I like it, especially for the money. I have also had the Racing Beat one. A much better product that is twice as heavy, twice as expensive and not good for more than a couple of more horsepower. If you do get one (Pacesetter) you will still get a noticable increase in performance. Don't listen to ignorant claims of no increase or even losses. We aren't talking about their Honda products.

I had the peicoshiet/pacesetter header on my car too, it DOES last, just doesn't look good, its been on since '97. I thought it wasn't very good for making much extra hp, probably because of the unequal length were it collects. Racing Beat streetable header off the shelf is definitely better after riding in a 12a with one.

Till I went to a bridgeport and chopped it and lengthened it back to the rear axle, and equal length piping to the collector also. THEN it made a BIG difference in highend, VERY big.

Oh one other thing on them, the collector has alot of flashing inside that needs to be smoothed to get the best power.
