Well heres what I am going to do, Need some advice.

In the first week in august I am getting a sizeable amount of money. I will be having Pineapple racing, rebuild and port my motor. I have decided to go with a streetport, but am having a hard time deciding wether to go large, med, or small port.
The car will be a daily driver as well as a weekend warrior. So gas milege and driveability are very important.

While I have the motor apart and everything out of the car I am going to do the basiics, I.E. new flywheel, clutch, and all the other **** that is a good idea to do while its out.

Here is what I have found for new parts. If anyone can point me in a cheaper direction that would be great.

I found a complete weber intake kit @ http://www.mazdaracing.com/weber1.htm

There kit is complete for $860. Not sure if the carbes are IDA,s or dcoe,s.
If I have a choice, which is going to be better, down draft or side????

the flywheel I am looking at is @ www.racingbeat.com
For $372. (lightweight steel) and the clutch is 138, (I already have an upgraded pressure plate.

I am also going to be finishing most of my suspension. all I really need now are camber plates, and a front sway bar. Ohhh cant forget POly bushings.

Or I might scratch doing all this stuff and buy a turbo FB.
MMMMMM turbo.......... But I dunno
Can anyone help piont me in the right direction????
I understand that most of the parts I am looking to buy are cheaper if Iget them from Austraila.

All right I will stop rambeling and hope someone actually replies to my post......

Thanks,
Micah

What I'm lookin' to do whenever I fall into some cash is get a small street port with intake.

I wanna run the exact same purpose as you, daily driver/civicKiller on the weekends and evenings. A small/medium street port will give you added power without sacrificing too much gas milage.

If you're not doing any hardcore racing with it, you'll be happy with the small/med port (and even just the rebuild!), and you really have no true need for anything monsterous.

Good Luck
Jon

I say, if you're going to port it go all out.

You can go a long ways on just a stock port, and even longer w/ enlarged ports!

I usually run CSP in auto-x, and if I port the motor its going to bump me into a prepared class. So if I am going to just move my self up into the prepared class, I may as well go all out.

If a large street port is managiable, without a significant drop in milage than I think thats what I am going to do.
I am tired of having those 5.0's walking on me at 95-105 Mph.

At Portland international raceway, I usually do alot of track days. Might get a great run on the straight and hit 100MPH.
Well I was talking to a guy this weekend at the National SCCA race. He is running basicly the same set up as I am looking at doing. at SIR he said he hit really close to 150MPH on there straight. so with that, I am expacting to maybe hit around 130 on our straight. (a kick in the *** maybe?????)

That I think is motivation enought to maybe go a large SP.
