Now what?

I talked to Ryan today and took his advice. I took it to my good friends shop today. We burped the coolant system, it seemed like air pockets just kept coming and coming and then the coolant in the neck would just go down, we would fill it up, and after about 20 min, would go down again. I went and got a bottle of CRC block weld, put it in and same thing. After I would let it run and then drive it the coolant would be gone out of the neck. So what the hell, where is all the damn coolant going? There were no leaks. Could there be that many air bubbles? I talked to a Rotary shop and they said that it can take days to get all the air bubbles out of a rotary. Also could the 1.3 bar AST cap be causing any of this? Or the AST tank? I just don't get it, there is no smoke, it is not hard to start, it runs and purs like a cat, there is no coolant in the oil when I drained it, but the coolant keeps disapearing Any body else have any suggestions, or has this happened to anyone?

Thanks,
Dustin

It does take a while to get the air out of the system. A couple of tricks to burping the system are to leave the coolant hose off the throttle body while your filling the coolant up, and pulsating (squeezing) the upper radiator hose as well. These should help to remove air. If your still getting air in your system check it with a pressure system. Sometimes it's possible to have a pinhole leak, that is undetectable without a pressure test. The turbo hoses and AST hoses are notorious for these pinhole leaks.

Should I just take the hose off for the whole time that I am burping it? Also, how long should I let it keep running and burping? And I will fill the coolant neck up, and then it sucks it right back down within a minute, where the hell is it all going? The only logical explanation is that all that coolant is going into the motor through the seals, but no smoke and no coolant in the oil Go figure

Make sure you do the proper 50/50 mix of water and coolant. Too much water content will lower the boiling point and after couple drive in a rotary water will just evaporate.

OK. Tomorrow I am going to pressure test the system, cause I have no idea where all my coolant is going. I kept burping the system today, let it run, drive it and then let it cool down, and then the coolant level would drop about 3-4inches. I would pour more in and in two seconds it would go down an inch. Where could it all be going? There are no leaks on the ground, there is no coolant in the oil, I just don't get it. The car has no problem starting and has perfect idle. Could the 1.3 ast cap have anything to do with it? Please help I am completely confused.
